ezSQL and CMS

Hi everybody,

I'm rather new to PHP but ezSQL gave me a jumpstart and the possibility to create reusable lightweight code. I was wondering though, how many of you use it to create a CMS or make it working together with an existing CMS?

Would you develop your own CMS using ezSQL and custom code? Or do you know of a CMS that can easily live together with ezSQL?

I'm in the process of evaluating different solutions. Existings CMS systems like Mambo seem nice but bloated with lots of whistles and bells I don't need, while lacking other stuff I would find usefull.

I would prefer code I can understand and extend to my needs, building a CMS with ezSQL looks like a valuable solution to me but at the same time it looks like re-inventing stuff that allready exists, no?

What is your experience in this matter?
